Abstract

This study aimed to identify the project initiation procedures that significantly influence project success, addressing the frequent failures seen in many housing construction projects. The goal is to assist project managers and construction organizations in identifying key project initiation tasks essential for successful project completion. The PRISMA technique was employed as the methodological approach. First, criteria for inclusion and exclusion of studies were established, alongside keyword research strings to identify relevant research articles. Prominent scientific databases, including ResearchGate, Springer, and ScienceDirect, were used primarily to source relevant literature. Findings revealed that stakeholder involvement, a clear project charter, and adequate funding are the initial stages with the most significant impact on the success of housing construction projects. The researchers concluded that an effective initiation phase positively influences project success and recommended that project initiation processes be prioritized due to their crucial role in achieving successful project outcomes.
