This study aimed to assess the impact of fuel and diesel price increases on the operations of private radio stations in Owerri, Imo State. A survey research design was employed, with a population and sample size of 61 journalist staff members from selected private radio stations. Findings revealed that journalists in Owerri had a high awareness of the fuel and diesel price increases. It was found that the price hikes significantly affected private stations’ operations, as they now incur high costs to maintain station operations. The fuel price increase also impacted advertisement and program pricing for airspace on private radio stations. The researchers concluded that fuel and diesel price increases have a substantial effect on the daily operations and management of private radio stations. It was recommended that the Nigerian government implement policies to support a steady power supply across Nigeria, similar to that of other African and Western countries.
